The drive by the Irish Government and HSE to reduce the cost of medication and healthcare products requires a fundamental shift away from the traditional focus on therapeutic effectiveness as the key procurement driver. Clinic Background & Objective
Globally the Life Science Sector is becoming increasingly competitive combined with spiraling costs associated with remaining compliant and local governments need to reduce healthcare budgets. The structure of the industry is changing and there is increased utilisation of third party R&D, Manufacturing, and Logistical / Supply Chain companies. This creates an opportunity for suppliers to work in close cooperation with propriety manufacturers however suppliers must ensure that all they operate to the highest standards of GxP (GMP, GDP, GCL etc).
To gain access to Life Science organisations and become a preferred supplier you need to ensure that you systems, procedures and personnel are properly aligned with the requirements of the regulator (Irish Medicines Board (IMB), FDA etc).
The objective of the clinic is to provide participants with a snapshot of current and expected future structure of the industry and provide a general guidance regarding business development strategies. We will also discuss your organisations current position regarding quality systems , procedures and facilities and give an outline gap analysis vis-à-vis what type of investment in they areas are likely to be required if you are to become a supplier.
